Elementary Einsteins 4 Simple Steps to Challenging Gifted Students in Your Classroom Betsy Weigle Books Reviews

Well written and organized for a busy teacher to read and implement ideas/strategies right away in the class! Thank you Betsy for writing such a positive and uplifting book for teachers!!
Elementary Einsteins is a great resource to have in any classroom. It is my go to resource as I plan for the upcoming school year. Betsy Weigle has written this wonderful resource Ina easy to read, teacher-friendly manner that makes it great to read the first time and easy to refer back to as needed. The book is full of practical ideas that only take a little effort to incorporate into the classroom. I will be using this book for many years. I can't wait to share it with my colleagues.
Betsy has been a true inspiration in my classroom and continuously provides me with tools I can easily implement to improve the quality of teaching in my classroom. This book is no different! "Elementary Einsteins" provides a wonderful insight into engaging my gifted students while raising the expectations for all students. It is a quick read for busy teachers that allows easy implementation for anyone with a desire to push their students.
Elementary Einsteins would be a great addition to any teacher's library. Just as we support our lower learners as they work towards grade level standards, we owe our upper level learners the same – extending the lessons to go beyond grade level. While keeping the Common Core in mind, Betsy’s 4 simple steps approach helps teachers meet the needs of all types of gifted learners in a no nonsense, easy to carry out approach . Her suggestions can be easily implemented without prior preparation.
I have followed Betsy Weigle as a student teacher, through my teacher interviewing process and now into my second year of teaching. Her materials are always of the highest quality and the book "Elementary Einsteins" is no different. I would highly recommend this book to any busy teacher, as it can be read quickly and the strategies integrated immediately into the classroom. As a second-year Kindergarten teacher, I found myself with an inordinately high number (5) of TAG students and limited staff to go to for support. There was consistently a need for extension activities to both challenge and engage my gifted students as well as parents' desire for me to do more for their newly identified children. It was honestly wearing me out! Betsy's book helped me to better understand how to provide meaningful extensions rather than just extra projects or peer instruction. Many of the strategies were so easy to incorporate, but really enhanced student learning, not only for gifted students, but for all my learners. A special bonus is that Betsy has provided videos and free resources regarding gifted students on her web site! Thank you Betsy for another quality product!!
This is a wonderful book that gives some very useful steps to challenge gifted students your classroom. You find many students will say that they are bored and want to learn new things. You may say that your plate is full and you don't have any time to differentiate instruction for the gifted students. Betsy gives you some helpful hints to planning for these students so that they can feel that they are being challenged and learning something new at the same time. She explains how important it is to include parents in working with their gifted students so that they can work to their own potential. Betsy also have an outstanding website called Classroom Caboodle that contains some videos and outstanding ways to deal with classroom management. I give this book five stars because it is so outstanding. I plan to pass it around to my colleagues so that they too can get some wonderful ideas from Betsy on how to challenge gifted students in the classroom. I can see them wanting to purchase a book for their own use.
